Sandrine Holt (House of Cards, Hostages) and Agnes Bruckner (24) have been cast as the lesbian couple in Carlton Cuse’s A&E drama series ‘The Returned’. An American version of a popular French show, has cast the two leading ladies to play the lesbian couple the 10-episode series!
Both women are well-known to lesbian audiences. Holt played the scheming and slightly abusive Catherine Rothberg on The L Word and Bruckner starred in opposite Madeline Zima in out director Jamie Babbit’s Breaking the Girls, an underground hit last year.
‘The Returned’ focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences.
According to Deadline, the town and the people are challenged emotionally and physically when locals who have been long dead begin to reappear in the little town.
USWNT and Seattle Reign’s starting goalkeeper, Hope Solo was arrested on Friday 20th June on a domestic violence charge. She is accused of assaulting her half-sister and her 17-year-old under-age nephew. She was held without bail over the weekend. Both Seattle Reign and U.S Soccer reportedly said they will reserve their comments until they have gathered the facts.
Solo is reported to have been intoxicated at the time of the incident but hr lawyer, Todd Maybrown says she was a victim in the altercation. Up to post time, the 32-year-old Solo was expected in court on two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault. She is set to appear in court Monday afternoon.
Solo received the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper as well as the Bronze Ball award for her overall performance at the tournament of the 2011 Women’s World Cup. At her last appearance for the U.S on June 14 against France, Solo tied former American World Cup winner Briana Scurry’s 71 career shutouts.
